Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the in house car park services team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. Must be able to work flexibly covering shift rotations over a seven day period including public and bank holidays.

Knowledge and experience of customer service in a health service car park environment is an advantage.

Knowledge and experience of Microsoft office, parking software and hardware an advantage although training will be given.

The car park wardens help patients, visitors and staff to safely park their vehicles to ease access to clinics, wards and places of work. It is also a function of the post to manage vehicle movements across the sites to ensure emergency vehicles can access all areas. The post also requires the collection and processing of activity data and the production and issuing of permits, warnings and vehicle ‘Parking Charge Notices (PCNs)’.

Monitoring of traffic, tickets and cash collections from all the trust car park pay stations for the specified hours each week (including Bank Holidays and week-ends).

A flexible attitude towards the hours of work will be expected when necessary in view of the seasonal and daily pressures of visitor use. Times may be adjusted according to local circumstances and subject to discussion with service manager.

Monitoring and reporting on all the activities that take place on the Trust sites, especially car parking for the specified hours each week (including Public Holidays and weekends).

Some evening work will be required to gain a fuller picture of the activities that take place on the Trusts sites. Times may be adjusted according to local circumstances and subject to discussion with the Car Park Services Manager – Contract Services.

Help with the positive management of all trust car parks and roadways ensuring ease of access for patients, visitors, staff, contractors and suppliers to the sites and buildings.
