POSITION: Café Assistant
SALARY :
HOURS: negotiable
REPORTS TO: The Café Manager
LOCATION: Brookfields Site, Mill Road, Cambridge
HOLIDAYS: 25 Days (pro rata)
PENSION: Auto Enrolment Stakeholder Pension (if applicable)
ABOUT THE EDGE CAFÉ:
The Edge Café is a unique environment, a working café with a community recovery focus.
The café forms a visible, public-facing demonstration of the possibility of recovery from
substance misuse/mental health, generating opportunities both for people in recovery, and
for the wider community. The Edge is passionate about producing delicious food in a
supportive and caring space.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- To provide delightful hospitality to all customers of the café.
- To be an active and supportive team member, contributing in a constructive manner and treating all cafe's team members and customers with fairness and courtesy.
- To work in a way that is consistent with The Edge Cafe's vision.
- To provide excellent customer service, serving customers promptly, courteously and with a smile.
- To fully comply with all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations at all times. Ensuring that food and drink served to customers is of a consistently high standard and is well presented.
- To develop knowledge of products and share that knowledge with customers and other team members in a confident manner.
- To maintain a clean and tidy environment at all times in the café, preparation areas and customer & staff toilets.
- To assist in the set up, set down and cleaning of the café and kitchen according to procedure on a daily basis and as required.
- To assist the Café Manager with the preparation of food and customer orders.
- To be responsible for the cash handling processes within the café.
Skills Required
- Barista experience highly desirable

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 15-30 per week
Salary: £9.00-£10.00 per hour

Experience:
- Barista experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
