Let us describe the challenge we offer
In our UK R&D department we are expanding our CAE capability, this is your chance to join this team and work with us on a diverse set of projects. You will have opportunity to tackle a broad range of tasks, both implicit and explicit, and will work closely with our design engineers to codevelop innovative solutions.
What you’ll do:
You will work on a diverse set of structural FEA tasks for a range of different engineering design teams. While working on each task you will be integrated into the design process, providing direct CAE support to the designers, assessing a range of structural loadcases. Your duties will include;
- Implicit linear static FEA, extracting stiffness and strength results as appropriate
- Explicit FEA, crash and impact across a range of loadcases
- Optimisation studies, topology and sizing.
- Correlation of CAE against physical test
- Working closely with our CAE Integration team to develop our material cards and CAE methodologies
Who you are
To be a great fit for this position you will need to be a highly motivated engineer with a keen interest in simulation activities and a proactive approach to problem solving. You will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
You must have significant experience in the application of CAE within the automotive industry, particularly:
- A broad experience in automotive structural CAE across a range of different systems.
- A proven track record of delivering innovative CAE solutions
- Experience with explicit FEA in LS DYNA is essential
- Experience with implicit FEA in Nastran/Optistruct is preferred
- Experience with FEA pre and post processors such as Hyperworks or Ansa/Meta is essential
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python is useful.
You should hold qualifications in Engineering at degree level or higher.
