We specialise in selling action figures, books, comics, graphic novels, manga and toys and we offer all the best merchandise from the cult cream of movies and television.
Forbidden Planet is looking for a Books Merchandise Admin Assistant to join our busy retail team in our Southwark HQ.
Forbidden Planet, the UK's leading Cult Entertainment retailer, is looking for a Books Merchandise Admin Assistant . You will be responsible for supporting the buyers with detailed inventory administration. This is a computer systems based role where you will also provide administration and general support to our stores. The role is fast paced, office based retail role working to tight deadlines in a busy, friendly team.
The ideal candidate will be be familiar with Forbidden Planet and love what we sell, have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and enjoy working with lots of data, as well as having strong numerical and PC skills (Excel and Word). Ideally you’ll have worked with EPOS systems, databases and Excel but training will be given.

Responsibilities/Duties:
- Coordinate buying, selling and stock management of all exclusives and Ltd Editions
- Feedback as needed on website content
- Follow up on stock take results with regional manager
- Coordinate all seasonal activity with buying and marketing
· Maintain good PC housekeeping standards on relevant drives and folders.
- Ensure communication standards are met, feeding back to buyers as needed.
- Proactively develop and maintain the highest standards of customer care in all areas of responsibility.
- Always maintain effective communication, ensuring that all information is shared with relevant staff, clients and customers.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all personnel.
- Provide feedback to your line manager ensuring they are advised of all developments and problems in your areas of responsibility.
- Act at all times in the best interest of the business to further good relations.
- Attend store openings, conventions and stock takes as may be required from time to time.
Self Development
- Conduct a continual review of personal performance, seeking to improve effectiveness both individually and as a team member.
- Assist in the identification of personal training and development needs in relation to your duties and ensure these are fulfilled in line with Departmental Business Objectives.
- Understand and work towards individual, team and business objectives.
General
- Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Advise the Health and Safety Representatives of potential risk areas.
