Job description
In our global Supply Chain Organization, the buyer is the leading interface between the buying market and the Product Center.
Acting as the first point of contact, they manage relationships with external and internal partners, as they efficiently co-ordinate information flow.
The buyer will manage the relationship with the external suppliers on a daily basis and ensure material availability for the Cambourne Volume Manufacturing Plant.
Through value adding initiatives, the buyer will actively contribute to quality improvement, cost reduction and increase in supplier performance.

Key responsibilities
- Control of the ordering process including placement, scheduling and tracking of purchase orders (SAP based) to secure the material supply for the production site.
- Management of assigned vendors according to KPI and targets provided by the Department Head.
- Co-ordination of efficient information flow between external and internal partners, acting as a first point of contact.
- Escalation management where required.
- Obtaining and negotiating quotes through the RFQ process.
- Continuous improvement and problem solving within the full scope of Supply-Chain processes.
- Play an important role in Supply-Chain-Management-projects, including across international sites.
Skills and experience
- Advanced knowledge in SAP.
- Highly organized, disciplined, and structured individual.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Efficient in managing large amounts of data and frequently updating information.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office package, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing and/or demand planning would be beneficial.
