Job description
The Rental Lettings Research Team is an operational delivery team. It researches the private rented sector and collects lettings information to assist with the setting of Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates and the new adjudication functions. The data is also used to produce official private rental statistics, as well as being used by other Government departments.
- Inputting applications for Local Authority Housing Benefit subsidy purposes.
- Inputting applications for tenants served with a rent increase notice by their landlord under the new Private Residential Tenancy agreements and Rent Pressure
- General Admin support including Corresponding effectively with Local Authority Housing Benefit Departments, landlords, their agents and representative bodies as well as tenants and their representatives.
- Providing a range of administrative support to help the teams achieve their goals.
- Provide administrative support when needed, including photocopying, answering routine enquiries and other relevant duties as required.
- Undertake other duties consistent with the post as directed by supervisors.
- Support the identifying and collecting of suitable rental market evidence from letting and estate agents and landlords and recording it in various formats.
COMPETENCIES
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and confidence in engaging with a range of people at all levels.
- Good working knowledge of corporate systems as well as IT packages, such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
PROVISIONAL INTERVIEW DATES

MINIMUM TIME IN POST
You will be expected to remain in post for a minimum of three years unless successful at gaining promotion to a higher Band or Grade.
In the event that further posts are required, a reserve list of successful candidates will be kept for up to 12 months.
You must discuss your intention to apply with your current line manager to help ensure release dates can be agreed.
