Based at County Hall, Matlock the Stock & Business Unit is a small and friendly team which carries out financial and administrative tasks for Derbyshire Libraries, the Derbyshire Record Office & Trading Standards.
We are looking for an efficient, motivated individual, who can work well as part of a team or independently. They will need to be well organised to manage their workload effectively and have experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines. Previous experience of working in a financial or administrative environment would be desirable but a willingness to learn is also important and training will be provided.
Applicants should have good customer service skills and be effective communicators able to provide accurate information and advice to the public, customers, and colleagues. They will need to use their initiative and problem-solving skills and good literacy; numerical and ICT skills are essential. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to analyse and process data quickly and accurately as responsibilities will include providing financial information for management reports and reconciling accounts. They should also be familiar with MS packages and have the ability to use bespoke systems and databases.
The post will involve a variety of general administrative tasks such as carrying out research, collating information, inputting data, record keeping, coding invoices, photocopying, filing, scanning, copy typing, archiving, preparing and documents and letters, sending post, monitoring incoming correspondence, scheduling meetings, and taking minutes. The successful candidate will also have to deal with enquiries in writing, emails and via telephone.
This role currently offers hybrid working options which will be to subject service needs. This means in addition to working from our office there are opportunities to work from home. We are offering 18.5 hours a week Wednesday - Friday but the successful candidate must be prepared to work flexibly to cover leave.
