Mitie is a UK-based facilities management company with revenues of over £3.4bn per annum. We are one of the UK's 250 largest public companies.
Mitie Healthcare is one of the largest sectors at Mitie, including over 50 contracts with more than £270m revenue. We provide fully integrated facilities management services, across mechanical & electrical, cleaning, portering, catering, security and capital projects. Most of these services are self-delivered. The majority of contracts are very long term (up to 30+ years) Private Finance Initiative (PFI) output based contracts alongside commercial output specified contracts.
Role Objectives
- We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join the Healthcare team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance for Healthcare
- FBP will have sole responsibility for a contract of c.£50-70m revenue.
- The role is commercially focused, supporting the contract managers and operational teams. This important role will be instrumental in delivering monthly management accounts, delivering finance reports, setting plans, improving processes and monitoring performance of the business.
- You will deliver commercial insight on business performance to influence decision making, drive profitable growth and support the delivery of the organisations long term strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts (SAP) and associated reporting.
- Role will require extensive use of several data systems (such as Coupa and various CAFMs) in order to extract data and deliver reports.
- Work closely with the contract managers, operational teams and site admin to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Support the business to manage the budget effectively, working in partnership to flag opportunities and risks early to enable robust accounting and forecasting to take place.
- Responsibility for production of rolling forecasts, six monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Support efficiency initiatives through cost base insight and reviews.
- Building, maintaining and influencing strong relationships with key stakeholders (both internally and externally).
- Advise to ensure financial risks are identified, monitored and mitigated by the business.
- Drive the impact and understanding of financial information through insightful reporting and interpretation to influence decision making and promote business performance across the Business.
- Report performance to senior stakeholders (Contract managers, Sector Director & Head of Finance for Healthcare)
- Business Partner with service line leads to improve performance and assist in their understanding of their P&Ls.
Experience
- Fully Qualified accountant (CIMA/AAT/ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
- Proven ability to work in complex financial environments.
- Experience of using SAP and /or CAFMs is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- A high degree of financial, commercial and customer awareness.
- Ability to thrive in a highly pressurised and driven environment.
- Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities and create new and innovative approaches to work related issues.
- Must be a team player, but have the ability to work on own initiative.
