What is the Logistics Summer Placement?
The Vacuum Technique Business Area (VTBA) Logistics team covers 3 main areas of the supply chain - Warehouse Operations, Transport/Freight management and Global Supply Chain Planning. The Logistics group operates as a centrally managed enabling function to the 6 Divisions within VTBA. The Divisions are managed as separate businesses, but they all share the same physical logistics, warehouses and transport. There are currently 4 main Distribution Centres (DCs) operated by the Logistics group in North America, Belgium, China and Japan. All DCs are designed to operate similar best practice operating processes and systems.
We take pride in ensuring our business operating processes and procedures support our global mission. During this placement you will work with members of the global logistics organisation in one or more of the following:
Support the development of new training material to support our new advanced supply chain planning system- Support the development of our operational and performance monitoring reports
- Support the improvement of our inventory and forecasting processes
Where would I work?
You will be based in our Global Technology Centre in Burgess Hill, Sussex, a short journey from the vibrant seaside city of Brighton and Hove.
About you
Education
- You will be in your penultimate year of a relevant undergraduate degree e.g. Business, Supply Chain or Logistics, Economics or Engineering.
Your skills, knowledge and behaviours
Passion for working in, or gaining new knowledge in, a global logistics environment and developing business acumen.- Confident communicator with the ability to work with internal and external clients and stakeholders across several countries.
- Process driven mindset and strong customer focus.
- Drive and desire for continuous professional development.

We offer a competitive salary of £20,500 pro rata on a fixed term contract of 12 weeks.
