Farrow and Ball – Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, Wimborne (Hybrid)
We are currently looking for an analytical individual to join our IT team in Wimborne as a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst. We are offering this position on a full-time, hybrid basis.

As the Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst you will be work cross functionally over all of Farrow & Ball’s global departments and stakeholders to transform data into information using business intelligence, statistical analysis techniques and machine learning. With the ability to hit the ground running you work to ensure that our central reporting system supports the needs of the business, empowering growth through data driven decisions.
What we expect from you as a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- To produce analysis, reports, and dashboards for the business in ERP (IFS / Oracle SQL), BI (Power BI/MySQL), Crystal and Excel as required.
- To create clear reports that tell compelling stories about how customers or clients work with the business
- To optimise and maintain reporting schedules to ensure timely distribution of required MI reports
- To help transform the F&B reporting style from flat tabular reports to drill down reports, visual charts or dashboards as appropriate
- To act as a service centre for companywide ad-hoc reporting needs, keeping a strong service SLA approach within an Agile development delivery model.
- To work closely with the business to identify issues or opportunities and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making
- To merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored analysis to colleagues, customers or the wider organisation
- To maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report results
- To use a mix of machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problems
- To look for opportunities to use insights/datasets/code/models across other functions in the business
- To stay curious and enthusiastic about using algorithms to solve problems and enthuse others to see the benefit of your work.

Key Abilities
- Advanced ability with MS Office with expert in MS Excel 2013 or above
- Demonstrable understanding of Data Warehousing and reporting queries (T-SQL and SSIS).
- Experience in database interrogation and analysis tools
- Ability to build queries in MS SQL as a minimum
- Ability to take on training and apply new skills immediately
- Terrific attention to detail, and very high personal standards when it comes to quality, method and rigour
- Advanced ability with MS Office with expert in MS Excel 2013 or above
- Excellent numerical, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills to explain your work to people who don’t understand the mechanics behind data analysis
Key Experience:
- Honours Degree in computer science or demonstrable equivalent experience of working in reporting functions and/or information analysis
- To have worked in an IT service environment, meeting and exceeding SLAs desirable
- Experience with Microsoft PowerBI and IFS Apps 8 (or higher) would be a distinct advantage
