Salary: £70,000 + (+ Commission) DOE
Are you a Senior Sales or Business Development professional with experience in Central Government looking for an opportunity to be winning work that has genuine, tangible impacts on society? Well, here it is.
Snook have partnered with our parent company NEC Software Solutions to create a new, dynamic, User Centred Design and Build team - NEC Digital. NEC Digital will allow us to supply a new offering to the public sector. Not only will we continue the challenging and necessary User Focussed Research and Service Design we know and love, but we can now offer this as a full Managed Service. Ensuring that what we put out into the world isn’t only designed with inclusivity and accessibility at the forefront but is developed and built with this as a focus every step of the way.
We’re on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to join our team and play a strategically important role in driving the impact these UCD Managed Services have on the Public Sector – primarily Central Government. We’d love you to join us on our mission, to revolutionize the way Central Government Services are built. This role isn’t just about winning work – it’s also about maintaining clients, and ensuring our products and offerings reach the people who they could make the most meaningful difference to.
Main Responsibilities:
- Strategically engage with Central Government departments such as BEIS, DLUHC, Home Office, DFE, DfT, DEFRA, MoJ, and HMPSS, fostering strong relationships and showcasing the capabilities of NEC Digital and Snook – leading with an approach that keeps the User at the centre of everything we do.
- Identify key stakeholders and build political maps for each department, collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team to determine the most effective communication strategies.
- Create trusted partnerships within the prioritised key departments, promoting our socially impactful design and build offerings.
- Processing opportunities in accordance with NEC SWS sales governance process.
- Understand the business challenges faced by government organisations and propose solutions that leverage our capabilities – allowing us to fix the problems our clients have in a way that helps everyone.
- Analyse opportunities within Digital Outcomes 6 and other procurement routes and develop comprehensive business plans for new capabilities.
- Collaborate with our Practice Leads and Heads of Practice to develop innovative pitching strategies and deliver compelling presentations that demonstrate our expertise and value proposition.
- Knowledge of Central Government structures and ideally established contacts within these departments.
- Demonstrable experience of carrying and achieving yearly sales targets.
- Strong understanding of Central Government procurement including Digital Outcomes with the ability to leverage this knowledge strategically.
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management Software and building a pipeline within this
- Awareness of shaping and solving problems using design, research, and development methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders across internal and external organisations.
- It would be desirable for you to have experience working alongside User Centred Design Professionals – so you can truly understand why we do what we do and/or experience selling and winning work within Justice Organisations would be an advantage
