The Mechanical/Technical Services Engineer provides technical support to our sales team and directly to the end users. This position provides lubricant-related recommendations and solutions for the Lubrication Engineers sales team and end users, both in real-time and through technical analysis reports. Responsibilities
- Facilitates the technical side of the Xamine program with Polaris Laboratories.
- Main contact to Polaris for various things such as customer account management, equipment input data corrections, data report follow up and revisions, new sales rep account setup and customer account transfers.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects, while applying technical concepts, to support a variety of internal and external requests.
- Develop or possess a mechanical understanding of machines and processes to improve performance through lubrication.
- Perform root cause analysis when presented with application problems experienced at customer locations and, when necessary, prepare a corrective action plan
- Possess excellent research skills to help find answers to lubrication challenges experienced by the customers, representatives, or distributors.
- Must be capable of writing technical reports and occasionally presenting articles and writing papers.
- Identify complex problems and review related information; develop and evaluate options.
- Apply general engineering and lubricant-related rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense in a clear and concise manner to the end user.
- Provide technical support for the application of intellectual property in the fields of lubrication, reliability, and tribology.
- May create, maintain, and participate in the development and communication of technical concepts related to lubrication reliability products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with lubrication, oil analysis, or mechanical equipment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to internal and external customers.
- Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Certifications preferred: MLA, MLT, OMA, CLS, CLGS
- Must have working knowledge of computers and the capability of employing programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of the Zoho Suite of tools is a plus.
