About Interplay (Integrated Play and Leisure)
Interplay grew out of the need for accessible play schemes during the summer for children with disabilities and has grown to become a year round provider of inclusive play, leisure and social opportunities for 4-25 year olds in the counties of Swansea and Neath Port
Talbot. We believe that play is the most important part of child’s life, enabling development and ensuring that every individual reaches their full potential.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Project Delivery and Development Manager
Responsible to: Interplay CEO
AIMS
- To work as part of the Senior Management Team to set and maintain a culture of high professional standards and to deliver best value services
- Using the Interplay business plan and relevant Play Sufficiency Assessments/ Play
Strategy to identify priorities, work with local additional needs communities in order to develop targeted support for young disabled people
- To promote and champion for children’s play and establish and lead a community of support through integrated leisure and social opportunities for young disabled people/people with additional needs aged 2-25.
- To work effectively with children and young people, their families, other third sector organisations, Youth Provision, The Local Health Board and Social Services
- To promote the Interplay ethos by enabling the voice of young disabled people to be heard and understood and bring about change in wider society to focus on ability rather than disability.
- To oversee, and when required, to deliver play sessions, activity schemes, social groups and workshops to promote wellbeing, independence and integration
- To support the young people to become involved in other project activities and external activities
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MAIN DUTIES
- To work with the Interplay CEO, other members of the SMT and Interplay staff team to develop Interplay projects
- To carry out the role of Service Manager/PIC of the Play Hwb provision in line with
CIW and the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for children up to the age of 12 years regulations
- In the absence of the Interplay Manager to work with other members of the SMT to ensure that all managerial responsibilities are met and adhere to Interplay’s ethos and objectives
- Taking part in staff meetings work with the Interplay staff teams to implement
Interplay projects
- To manage the day to day running of projects in accordance with Interplay
Objectives.
- To help recruit and support staff and volunteers to deliver play projects/provision
- To provide line management to Play workers, Transition Workers and volunteers and be responsible for the effective running of the team.
- To provide mentoring and advice, and to conduct regular supervisions and appraisals for interplay’s team of Play workers.
- To organise, oversee/participate and evidence sessions alongside the Interplay teams and volunteers.
- To Liaise with parent and cares to maintain good line of communication through all processes.
- To ensure effective feedback and consultation mechanisms are in place and effectively facilitate these mechanisms for young people to contribute to project development
- To oversee the referral process and ensure that all referrers are contacted in a timely manner.
- To ensure the recording of all monitoring data.
- To oversee the completion and submission of clear and accurate quarterly reporting to funders
- To present regular progress reports as required to the Interplay CEO and Trustee
Board
- To purchase resources and effectively manage day to day budget, and provide regular financial reports to the Funding and Systems Coordinator
- To maintain effective working relationships with key partner agencies and liaise effectively with these and other key stakeholders on a range of subjects, including referrals, agency input into the programme, resource sharing, etc.
- To represent Interplay at local networks, events and meetings, including but not limited to the NPT Play Strategy Implementation Group, CCS Play Network, NPT
Children and Young people network, NPT Youth forum
- To develop and regularly update a mapping of disability and mainstream play provision in Swansea and NPT
- To actively seek opportunities for additional funding to help meet unmet play needs and/or improve quality of play and make applications where possible.
- To ensure administrative systems are effectively maintained, and with the support of the other members of the SMT ensure administrative processes are effective for both digital data and hard copy when required.
- To work with The Interplay CEO to develop a social media strategy and oversee its delivery
- To undertake fire warden duties and ensure that fire tests and fire drills are regularly carried out
- To be responsible for Health and Safety of all delivery, overseeing and reviewing the completion of risk assessments and compliance with risk assessment procedures
- To ensure that Safeguarding and all other relevant policies are implemented
- To ensure the implementation of agreed information sharing protocols while upholding the confidentiality of information of clients under GDPR legislation
- To actively participate in supporting the principles and practice of equality of opportunity provided by Interplay (Integrated Play & Leisure)
- To work with the Interplay CEO and Trustees to set and maintain a culture of high professional standards and to deliver best value services
- To carry out such duties as may be required from time to time to ensure the efficient performance of the charity.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant Professional qualification of level 3 Play Work, Childcare or equivalent CIW recognised qualification
- Previously undertaken child protection and safe guarding training
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience of managing staff and resources
- Have understanding of financial management and budgeting.
- Have a knowledge, understanding and experience of Playwork, Social Care or Youth work settings.
- To have a well-developed knowledge and understanding of issues relating to disability.
- Have prior knowledge of all health and safety responsibilities at this level
SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Be highly self-motivated with a proven willingness to work on her/his own initiative.
- Have excellent written/verbal, social and communication skills.
- Flexibility
- Good organisational skills
- Good computer skills and a working knowledge of I.T. systems
- Good understanding of social media
- The abilities to manage and supervise staff
- Have an aptitude and ability to plan and co-ordinate projects, and a commitment to the policies of Interplay with particular regard to Equal Opportunities.

- Hold a current driving licence with own transport.
