Role
We are seeking a dynamic and high-performing individual who possesses the passion, skills, and ambition to thrive in a fast-paced start-up setting. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the reach of our Antibodies.com product portfolio across a wide range of global markets.
In this role, you will be tasked with establishing and nurturing key relationships with prominent pharmaceutical, biotechnology, contract research organizations (CROs), diagnostic companies, and academic institutions. As our brand ambassador, you will need to have an in-depth understanding of our product portfolio and the ability to articulate its unique value proposition to prospective clients.
In addition to your primary responsibility for revenue growth, you will also be instrumental in developing and executing strategic plans to expand our product catalogue through partnerships with new supply chain partners. Your efforts will involve the negotiation, drafting, and securing of major supply, collaboration, and distribution agreements.
As a successful candidate, you will have a proven track record of achieving and surpassing revenue targets in a high-pressure environment. You will possess exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Business Development Manager at Antibodies.com, some of your major key responsibilities may include:
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth and revenue generation.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Identifying new business opportunities and developing plans to pursue them.
- Conducting market research and analysis to stay informed of industry trends and competition.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to secure new contracts and partnerships.
- Negotiating and closing deals with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Analyzing data to measure the effectiveness of business development strategies and making recommendations for improvement.
- Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the company's products, services, and competitive advantages.
- Representing the company at industry events and conferences.
- Developing and delivering presentations to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a life science field (higher degrees preferred).
- 5+ years of proven experience in business development within the life science reagents, IVD, or pharma/biotech industrial fields.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements such as distribution, OEM, and supply agreements.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others to achieve desired results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional presentation skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- A proven track record of achieving sales quotas.
- A valid driver's license and the flexibility to travel.
- A professional and presentable demeanour with unwavering professionalism.
