SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for sales for all Altra products within the Upstream and Midstream Oil & Gas market through development of existing and new OEM customers, as well as specialty distributors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and executing development plans for assigned target customers in the territory. Including but not limited to:
- Creation and following of plan for site visits to relevant decision makers with the account manager.
- Tracking projects that have been won by the key OEM’s.
- Securing inquiries for new projects, following up quotations and winning orders with the account manager.
- Meeting annual sales targets for assigned territories and accounts.
- Developing relationships and keeping contact with relevant OEM’s, end users, specifiers.
- Researching and developing new accounts for Altra products.
- Maintaining market intelligence on global projects, customers and competitors.
- Preparation and interpretation of sales reports, forecasts and KPI’s
Job Requirements:
Critical Competencies
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English language and possibly in another European language. Experience and comfortable in customer contact by phone or face to face, with both existing and more importantly new prospects/customers.
- Experience using SAP- CRM
- Able to work as part of a team
- Ability to manage in demanding situations and make sound decisions
- Self-disciplined and able to work on own initiative
- Positive can-do attitude and a strong will to succeed
- Strongly motivated to sales success.
- Competent with MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Well organised, structured time management
Education and Experience Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Engineering background with good practical knowledge of the engineering principles of Power Transmission
- Engineering or Economy or Business degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an equivalent sales role
