Boeing Defence UK is looking for a System Administrator based in Waddington, Lincolnshire to support the MoD Gladiator project. Working on site, 5 days per week, this role will involve contributing to the delivery and sustainment within a specialized IT environment supporting a dedicated program of work within the Boeing portfolio.
Based on site in Waddington, you will be involved in the IT Infrastructure system integration activities, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of workstations, servers and networks to ensure service availability and system performance is maintained.
Additionally, you will be responsible for service delivery of the project where customer service and IT performance is paramount. Equally comfortable, confident and professional, whether on the end of a phone or ‘hands-on’ at a desk, you will be the sort of individual that takes pride in providing a first-rate service and genuinely enjoys solving IT issues for colleagues at all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Performs system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
- Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems.
- Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems.
- Administers user system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements.
- Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.
Additional responsibilities include;
- Delivery and maintenance of IT Infrastructure and services aligned to industry and Boeing enterprise best practices.
- Responding to system events, user requests and incidents logged in management systems.
- Performing analysis of log files, systems, and network traffic.
- Vulnerability assessment and remediation.
- System Hardening.
- System Administration of RHEL and Windows Operating Systems.
- Identify and raise technical challenges and limitations within the infrastructure estate.
- Providing comprehensive and timely communications to key stakeholders.
- Working to well-defined SLAs & KPIs.
Essential Skills & Experience (priority order)
- RHEL 7x, 8x, 9x & RHEL Satellite Management (Min 3-4 Years working experience)
- Windows Server (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Certificate Management, WSUS)
- Windows Desktop deployment and configuration
- VMWare vCentre & HCI (HP Simpivity) (Experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructure)
- Network Infrastructure (Switches / Firewalling / Routing technologies)
- Microsoft Exchange On-Prem
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Cisco ACI
- Cisco ASA
- Private Key Infrastructure / Certificate Authority
- McAfee EPO/DLP
- SPLUNK
- Skype for Business
This role requires DV Clearance (or active/current SC Clearance, with an ability and willingness to go through DV Clearance.)
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be UK nationals with no caveats.
This is an onsite role, 5 days a week.
