What does a Business Development Executive do?

  • Sources qualifies and builds new business
  • Uses various methods of outreach such as cold calling, working with the marketing team and attending trade shows.
  • Adapting a strategic approach to win and develop new business
  • Being the first port of call for customers and building relationships
  • Getting involved in market analysis to stay up to date with competitors and industry trends
  • Being an ambassador for the company and supporting the wider sales team with both prospective and existing clients to understand and advise on business challenges.
  • As a Business Development Executive you will become subject matter experts to new and existing clients so that long lasting business relationships can be built.

What skills does a Business Development Representative require?

  • A university graduate (any discipline) with some exposure to customer environments in past work experience
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to network with peers, prospects, and customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade in a business environment.
  • A professional attitude, conduct and appearance
  • Previous exposure to sales would be a benefit. However, full training is provides and you are given all the tools to be successful
