Business Analyst

Role Overview

Eseye is looking for a Business Data Analyst with good data analysis and analytical skills along with a detailed approach to gathering and articulating business requirements.

As part of our Business Analyst Team, you’ll produce concise and informative documentation in Jira so the development team are clear on the functional requirements and can make informed decisions on prioritisation.

The role involves working with product management to translating business needs into technical capabilities, then working with the gathering the requirements (Functional and non-functional), business benefits and use cases. Subsequently converting these into functional specifications, user stories and solutions.

Once development is accepted you will be the subject matter expert for questions arising from development or QA to facilitate successful project delivery.

At Eseye the Business Analysts work alongside a Product Owner and in conjunction with Product Management and Delivery Management.

Reporting to Business Operations, the candidate will work collaboratively with Engineering teams to support the delivery of effective and valuable projects in the organisation.

An analytical but pragmatic approach to problem-solving is required. Along with an awareness of commercial constraints to achieve the most appropriate solution.

Role Profile:

  • Demonstrable track record as a business analyst
  • Sound technical and analytical capabilities
  • Solid experience working in Agile environments / teams using SCRUM framework
  • Worked with 3rd party and international teams
  • Work with product owners to capture requirements, define solutions and participate in workshops to manage requirements to reach a technical understanding.
  • Obtains and dissects technical requirements from stakeholders eg. Sponsors, Sales, Support and Operation
  • Document requirements to sufficient technical detail for the development teams to understand
  • Supports QA in the sourcing / creation of relevant test datasets for automated regression testing.
  • Produces written documentation to support the work, report progress and disseminate to the wider business.
  • Facilitates the successful transfer of the product to Eseye through knowledge transfer sessions and internal training.
  • Manages multiple projects and pragmatically prioritises their own work
  • Reports progress to product and engineering management
  • Works in Eseye HQ in Guildford on a regular basis (1-2 days per week)
  • Feedback into Eseye development procedure to streamline the process

Skills Requirements:

  • Experience of working using agile and waterfall project methodologies
  • Skilled in Microsoft tools including Teams, Sharepoint
  • Challenger mindset with strong understanding of requirements gathering and solution shaping
  • Capable in structured information management - Teams, Sharepoint, Jira, Git
  • Mature, confident, highly organised, self motivated, with good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using JIRA for capturing product development requirements
  • AWS architecture and Serverless experience is beneficial
  • Database experience in particular SQL is highly beneficial
  • Understand SDLC and experience of data modelling to analyse requirements and provide suggestions for product / process improvement
