Job description
Graduate Programme 2023
Business Banking Graduate Programme (2 years)
We understand what makes our business customers ‘tick’. We deliver exceptional customer experience and build relationships with customers, meeting their needs with the right products and services.
On our Graduate Leadership programmes, you’ll learn at pace and gain exposure to senior leaders and a variety of projects and teams, giving you everything you need to be a future leader at our Bank; all whilst working towards a relevant professional qualification.
Rotational placements will give you the opportunity to explore how we design our customer journeys, interact with our customers and develop products, taking into consideration our customer needs and the commercial needs of the business. Throughout the two years, your placements will vary, but could include:
- Developing propositions which are both commercially and customer focused - from idea generation to delivery
- Sharpening your commercial acumen by getting out and about with our relationship managers to support our larger business customers and drive the growth of our customer base
- Transforming the customer experience within our digital team – delivering new innovative solutions to make banking easier for our customers
- Spending time in customer delivery teams to learn first-hand what our customers want and how we can best meet their banking needs
You’ll also work towards the Financial Services Professional apprenticeship Level 6.

Your placements
Placements will vary depending on business needs at the time as well as being tailored to your areas of interest. Our two and three year Graduate schemes provide a structured development programme. You’ll develop key leadership skills and competencies and gain knowledge and experience through a series of placements across your chosen business area.
Fantastic support
There’s much more to our graduate programmes than on-the-job experience. We’ll give you all of the tools we can to drive your career and develop you as a person. You’ll have access to all the support you need, but the ultimate responsibility for shaping your development will be yours. Your Business Sponsor will review and appraise your performance, providing feedback and coaching at every step of the way to ensure your success and personal growth. We’ll also assign you a senior leader mentor and work with you on a personal development plan to draw together technical training and personal and professional learning to help you grow your skills and gain a relevant apprenticeship.
Are you made of the right stuff?
We’re looking for commercial thinkers with real enthusiasm, energy and potential. You’ll be a great leader, leading both people and projects, working collaboratively and co-operatively across the rest of the business. Level headed with a mind full of bright ideas, you’ll crave responsibility and have the drive to see things through from start to finish.
