You'll be a key part in establishing a centralized analytical function dedicated to solving critical and complex business issues. You will develop the insights necessary to better understand our customers, support transformation initiatives, reduce operational costs, and ultimately drive revenue.
This function will have accountability for the data and analytics community across the organization, and you will be responsible for delivering our reporting roadmap as we transition to Power BI!
To excel in this role, you should possess in-depth knowledge of data Lakehouse architecture, Power BI best practices, and Scrum methodology. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing strategies for effective analytics, ensuring data-driven decision-making is embedded in our business processes.
- Gathering and consolidating requirements for the future state reporting suite, considering stakeholder needs and challenging where necessary to optimize efficiency and address business problems effectively.
- Collaborating with the technical delivery team to define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), identify required data sources, advise on wireframes and prototypes, and coordinate approvals.
- Building strong relationships and communication channels across your business area, understanding objectives and pain points to provide counsel and guidance on data-related questions.
- Supporting technical delivery through user acceptance testing, data governance procedures, and resolving data quality issues, representing the interests of the finance team throughout the process.
- Advising on visualization and processing improvements for dashboards, striving for best-in-class solutions that enhance business value by reducing processing time and providing clear insights on complex metrics.
- Ensuring high adoption of new products and decommissioning of the old reporting suite, driving the transition to a more efficient and impactful data ecosystem.
- Promoting a data-driven culture within Halfords, championing the value of data in decision-making both internally and externally.
As a successful candidate, you will possess strong communication skills, enabling you to engage with stakeholders at all levels. You will have technical expertise in data technology, and your analytical mindset will allow you to translate large volumes of data into actionable insights. Finally, your ability to work at a fast pace, across multiple projects, and your results-driven problem-solving approach will ensure high-quality deliverables in a timely fashion.
