Summary of the Role: The Graduate Business Analyst will gather financial information and react to the dynamics of the business and the needs of the management team. The post holder will analyse financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models for decision support. They will support the improvement of the financial status of the company by analysing results; monitoring variances and identifying trends. They will assist with annual and quarterly forecasting / reporting.

The nature of the role requires the ability for the post holder to use their initiative, managing his/her own time and setting priorities within a demanding and dynamic setting.

Working with corporate service colleagues and service managers plus the Group financial management team the role will involve:

  • Assisting with business case preparation
  • Assisting with financial planning and monitoring
  • Delivery of financial reporting requirements to meet reporting periods and to service specified meetings
  • Analysis of financial management performance & trends
  • Identifying and analysing business problems, working with managers to identify & implement solutions
  • Proposing the best way to put recommended changes in place & where appropriate overseeing testing and quality checks of recommendations
The position will be responsible to the Head of Finance and will produce regular service line financial information. The post holder will work closely with the finance team,senior managers and departmental managers where appropriate.

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.

We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).

In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.

The post will involve financial data analysis and interpretation, to support information delivery to the business and its service lines.

No staff management or direct budget responsibility.
