Role Overview:
You will play an important role that will support Planet Group’s compliance with payment scheme and alternative payment methods (APMs) rules and regulations. This will include gathering, reading and tracking scheme bulletins and announcements, and coordinating product and technical team updates required to support requirements. All tasks are time sensitive, financial in nature and require an understanding of electronic transaction processes. The role covers the full breadth of payment schemes and AMPs supported by the Group.
What you will do:
- Collate payment scheme and alternative payment method (APM) announcements, bulletins, mandates and operational changes and manage the end-to-end review and impact assessment process
- Work closely with the Product and technical teams to assess how scheme changes and compliance issues will impact the client base and product portfolio
- Manage the process to ensure payment scheme and APM changes are prioritized and implemented according to compliance and commercial needs
- Act as subject matter expert on scheme rules and mandates
- Produce monitoring and reporting to track the group’s compliance with scheme mandates and compliance-related activities
- Be closely aligned and aware of market trends in the card schemes, plus acquiring and merchant services markets
- Attend relevant card scheme industry events, working groups and webinars to ensure product and market knowledge is kept relevant and information is cascaded to appropriate colleagues
- Where required assist in training and upskilling the product knowledge of relevant colleagues in the group through insightful presentations
Who you are:
- Several years’ experience with payment processing or merchant acquiring
- Basic knowledge of payment processing transaction flow, including Authorization, Clearing, Settlement and Interchange
- Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills in a high-volume environment
- Self-motivated and able to establish priorities, be results-oriented, and work independently
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations
- Ability to prepare basic reports and business correspondence and deliver presentations
- Flexible scheduling may be required from time to time. Quarterly Compliance releases require weekend reviews
