Business Analyst (Inside IR35)
Contract Term: 9 Months
Contracting Authority: Department for Education
Location: Hybrid with Ad-hoc travel to office – Either Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Darlington, Coventry.
Department for Education (DfE) is responsible for children’s services and education, including higher and further education policy, apprenticeships, and wider skills in England. The LEO Programme team sits in the Data Directorate, and are responsible for strategic development of the Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) and Pupil Parent Matched Data (PPMD) assets, and deliver these highly sought, cross-government longitudinal linked data assets.
The team leads the engagement of stakeholders across government (ONS, DWP & HMRC), external researchers, analytical communities as well as No.10 and ministerial engagement. We work closely with special and policy advisors, legal and data protection advisors, leading academics and public policy think tanks. Both assets hold incredible value for policy analysis across families, schools, skills and for Covid recovery and (due to their nature) are widely sought across government.
As a Business Analyst your main responsibilities would be:
- Work on world-leading data linkage projects that are part of the future for DfE, and will deliver immense value to the public.
- Support the LEO Programme team in understanding and analysing user and business needs, helping to deliver data linkage projects.
- Work on documentation to support delivery of the projects, such as user support guides, FAQ documents and others to ensure the smooth delivery of services relating to LEO.
- Support the team by performing user research tasks using a range of tools and techniques to gather business and user requirements against the objectives articulated for the programme.
You’ll have relevant experience in:
- Business analysis experience is essential.
- Familiarity with Office 365 products including Sharepoint.
- Data protection
- Data governance
- Awareness of the analytical research community would be beneficial.
- Public sector experience/knowledge – Desirable
