This department provides support, enabling our wider strategic ambition and vision for the charity. The position is both consultative and functional and will enable our wider objectives and strategy
As a Business Analyst you will be involved in projects from initial concept/research through to final implementation. You will assist with general support and enhancement work as well as getting involved with the testing of new projects including websites, mobile apps, and system interfaces.
The role of the Business Analyst is to act as third line support, supporting our live systems. You will identify change needs, capture requirements, and ensure changes are delivered by liaising with developers and applying project management methodology. You will use your DofE expertise to perform user acceptance testing in accordance with the overall DofE QA/Test Strategy on small and large projects. This role is about supporting the organisation to deliver key changes that provide tangible benefits and help the organisation exceed its objectives.
What you will be working on?
- Use appropriate methods to identify the requirements of internal customers
- Document and explain requirements to the developers and advise throughout the project lifecycle – use and functional cases
- Execute test plans and scenarios and record results and defects including loading and response times, supporting other UAT testers where necessary
- Liaise with development partners so test failures can be resolved.
- Be meticulous in recording all testing, version control and issues tracking ensuring they are available for audit purposes and performance improvement reviews.
- Embed the charity’s project controls and governance and ensure these are maintained and kept relevant to the charity’s needs.
What are we looking for?
- Ability to develop, implement and monitor the DofE’s IT projects.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgement based on knowledge and understanding.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales.
- Recognised business analyst qualification, e.g., ISEB.
- Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of internal and external audiences.
- Understand the IT industry, including latest developments.
- Quality driven with great attention to detail
- End to end experience of the SDLC.
