Designation: Business Analyst

Grade: Stroud 5

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Ebley Mill, Stroud

Job Purpose: To support the transformation of the Council’s service delivery as part of the Fit for the Future Programme, with a primary focus on the implementation of our customer contact vision. Taking a lead on business improvement initiatives that will put our communities at the heart of our service delivery.

Responsible to: Fit for the Future Programme Manager

Responsible for: No supervisory responsibility

KEY DUTIES

  • Lead business improvement initiatives from the development of an initial concept through to implementation of innovative solutions
  • Elicit business requirements using a variety of techniques
  • Lead on the development of solutions that meet business requirements and ensure a consistent approach which keeps the customer at the centre of our processes
  • Use structured and agile methods to implement process, data, technology, and organisational change
  • Collect, organise, and analyse data to provide customer insights and enable us to measure and improve our services

  • Experience of delivering effective and varied business change initiatives in a customer service environment
  • Able to analyse and interpret data

  • Ability to work unsupervised and manage workloads and deadlines for several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships

  • Implement creative and innovative solutions to improve service delivery and add value to the council and our customers.
  • Creativity required dealing effectively and promptly with unforeseen issues arising from work in progress.
  • Applying diagnostic processes to problems aiding in the preparation of reports

JUDGEMENT AND DECISIONS

  • Routine decisions on aspects of work with all other decisions being referred to post holder’s line manager
  • Examining service processes, procedures, and data highlighting where further improvements may be required, or a decision needs to be made in service delivery

GENERAL

▪ To work with communities sometimes outside normal office hours, including weekends.

▪ To always ensure that service delivery informs, reflects and supports the
Council’s prevailing aims and objectives.

▪ To work with colleagues across the organisation as required in support of organisational goals.

▪ To promote the Council’s overall commitment to equality of opportunity/Diversity and work within the requirements of the Council’s

▪ To undertake all training and development initiatives as required.
▪ To work within Health and Safety guidelines in accordance with the Health and Safety at work Act.
