About You
As a Business Analyst you will report to the Lead Business Analyst and be responsible for the definition of requirements and specifications for a range of custom software, data, and product development projects. You will demonstrate ownership of the specified solution throughout the project lifecycle and perform ad-hoc business analysis consultancy as required. You will have a good understanding of business analysis tools, techniques and approaches, exceptional verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work across multiple projects.
Essential Skills:
- Experience of leading the business analysis function on custom software development projects, with a focus on quality and attention to detail in all areas.
- Experience of requirements gathering for software development, the production of functional specifications and/or acceptance criteria, including story maps, user story techniques, field-level data definitions, and wireframe tools.
- Experience of planning and delivering elicitation workshops with stakeholders. Must be comfortable facilitating workshops by yourself.
- Ability to demonstrate negotiation skills including reaching consensus and managing conflict.
- Working knowledge of Agile Scrum and Waterfall project frameworks, concepts and methodologies.
- Experience of using ticket management tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira.
- An understanding of new and emerging technologies, tools, techniques, patterns, approaches and methodologies relevant to software delivery, with a desire to develop further.
- Exceptional communication skills including the ability to present complex ideas clearly to technical and business clients.
- Effective understanding and management of change control within a project.
- Experience of the latest UX and UI principles and relevant standards.
- Outstanding organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to switch tasks easily.
- A positive, proactive, and can-do attitude.
Desirable Skills
- Attainment of, or working towards, a BCS Business Analysis certification or equivalent.
- Leadership of consultancy assignments and small projects.
- Experience and certifications in other related areas, including Lean.
- Commercial project management experience.
