What role will you play in our team
Working closely with the Trader and Blender, the Gasoline Blending Operator will be responsible for coordinating the logistics at a sizeable EU blending facility. This role requires the development of strong relationships not only internally with trading team members, multiple EU refinery coordinators, analysts but also externally with blend hub operators, schedulers and inspectors. The role requires the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be an effective team player. The practitioner should clearly understand EU petroleum logistics and be ready to work effectively as part of the wider trading team.
What you will do
Feed accurate, timely data and information to the trader, blender, risk control and management and recycling as required.- Schedule monthly 100+ movements into and out of the blend hub via various modes of transportation as well as 100-200 tank-to-tank operations including quality monitoring and optimization.
- Work closely with the third party blend hub operator to ensure accurate and timely (i) tank-to-tank moves within the blend hub and (ii) movements into and out of the blend hub to both internal and external customers.
- Perform periodic inventory management reconciliations, ensuring hedged inventory coincides with in-tank physical volumes.
- Nominate inspections on all components and recycling with trader, inspector and PQ advisor as required.
- Ensuring all activities are conducted within appropriate authority limits, regulatory and tax requirements, internal and external PQ requirements and internal guidelines.
About you
Minimum Bachelor’s degree combined with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of scheduling vessel, barge, pipeline and other modes of transportation.- Familiar with all finished EU domestic and international fuels grades, as well as a full slate of components domestically and offshore.
- Strong logistics knowledge of the domestic EU fuels market.
- Outstanding communication skills; proven ability to build / maintain internal and external business relationships.
- Self-starting team player with the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, high-pressure team environment.
- Outstanding time management and prioritization skills.
- Willingness to meet occasional after hours work needs and to travel on a very limited basis.
- Adaptable to changing priorities; work effectively in high pressure situations
- Can make prompt decisions, coordinate appropriate responses with limited information
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Detail-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrate leadership skills by aligning a team behind a path forward and influencing without authority
