Job Description Summary
At Lloyds Banking Group, we’re driven by a clear purpose - to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are passionate about making a difference to customers, businesses and communities.
Job Description
Insurance, Pensions & Investments helps personal and business customers with their long-term protection, retirement, and investment needs. With over five million customers, and having celebrated our 200th anniversary in 2015, Scottish Widows is one of the UK’s most trusted Life, Pensions and Investments providers.
An exciting opportunity has come available for a Business Analyst to come and work within Insurance Pensions & Investments Programmes! We specialise in delivering large scale strategic digital transformation initiatives – and we want you to be involved.
We have embarked on a major transformation programme to improve the customer journey for millions of IPI customers. Working alongside our 3rd party provider, you’d be a key member of the platform migrations team that is pivotal in supporting the migration of our complex legacy estate to a strategic platform that will combine the strength of Lloyds Banking Group’s customer propositions with modern technology!
We're seeking a Business Analyst who is confident, highly motivated and has a passion for working within our team. You'll have the opportunity to build initiatives that are responsible for resolving complex and sophisticated problems.
You'll join the programme and support on key initiatives that will form a key part of the successful migration of our platforms and customer policies.
So what activities will you be involved in?
  • Be responsible for the requirement's analysis, process and solution design in order to realise customer value through excellence and execution, and working with colleagues to determine feasibility of solutions/options for various platform migrations
  • Have the opportunity to generate innovative ways to existing problems or new opportunities
  • Seek opportunities to ‘simplify’ our current way of doing things, challenging the status quo to support the delivery of a safer and simpler migration
  • Work very closely with various colleagues across Insurance, Pensions & Investments (such as Propositions / Legal / Risk / Operations) as One Team to deliver a safe and successful migration for our customers and for the Group
  • Conduct requirements validation with partners, gain appropriate approvals, and manage the change processes for requirements documentation
  • Feed in and review test scenarios, ensuring any defects are tracked and investigated, calling out issues and risks where there is impact on delivery
  • Document business handover at project closure defining key information such as workaround processes for business as usual, feed into lessons learned and standard process.
  • Champion and contribute to the Business Analysis practice within the chapter, developing practices, tools, knowledge and capability to support the delivery of large, complex business initiatives.
What skills and Experience are we looking for?
  • Strong Business Analysis understanding and experience with compiling project lifecycle deliverables including requirements documentation, process mapping, data analysis and testing
  • Good communication and partner engagement skills – able to build positive and cohesive working relationships and deal with ambiguity
  • Results driven with a demonstrable record of delivering projects in Regulatory Change.
  • Knows how to carry out data discovery to identify the effect of proposed change to the associated business processes
  • Elicit clear and concise business and non-functional requirements to articulate the business need in line with the business objectives, ensuring that traceability is maintained throughout the project delivery lifecycle
  • Knows how to develop test requirements and scripts to drive robust, effective and qualitative testing
Location & Ways of Working:
We can accommodate you being based in any of our Edinburgh, Halifax or Bristol hubs for this role.
Our colleagues, work in a hybrid model which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our hub sites, therefore we'll need you to be a commutable distance from one of these areas.
So what can we offer you in return?
In return for your expertise, your ongoing personal and professional development will be supported. Here, you'll grow as a person and develop your career. As a valued member of our team, we'll support to grow and advance you through excellent training and progression opportunities.
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll receive:
  • A Discretionary Performance Share Award
  • Generous pension contribution
  • 30 Days leave plus bank holidays
  • A flexible cash pot (4% of base salary) to spend on benefits
  • Private health cover
  • Access to Share Schemes
So if you have the skills we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you!
We'll help you perform at your best today, so you can fulfil all your potential in the future. We know that success is built from the inside out through our people.
We're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisation. We'll ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
