Job Description
Elavon is looking for an API Product Leader to shape the future of Elavon’s Global Next-Generation API Experience. This work includes all aspects of the API & Developer Asset Delivery Model specifically leading the organization on the rollout of a new, modern suite of APIs. In this role, you will manage a global team of Product Managers, collaborate day-to-day with Engineers, influence industry standards and design principles to deliver a Best-in-Class API & Developer Asset payments experience for Elavon’s Products & Services.
Our ideal candidate has managed technical products and/or modern platform delivery at scale and understands the nuances and specifics of how APIs and other developer facing assets are key to the success of modern payments products.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- At least 10 or more years of related work experience
Responsibilities/Skills:
You will have a demonstrated track record of scaling and developing product management teams, while overseeing the work of large groups of engineers.
You will be accountable for defining our API & Integrations product strategy, authoring the roadmap, and executing across the entire product lifecycle
You will champion and advocate for an ‘API as a Product’/API-First mindset and culture across our Product & Technology teams
You will use metrics & competitive analysis to inform your point of view and leverage analytics to measure success & influence direction
You will be a key influencer and primary product stakeholder driving and shaping the work & output of an API “Center of Enablement” in the organization tasked with establishing common design principles & standards, consistency, best practices, re-use potential etc
You will be proficient in designing and building APIs for external use and /or experience with consuming external APIs as core integration block in product development
You will have demonstratable ability to lead & influence at every phase of the product lifecycle from vision/ideation, to design & solution evaluation & definition, to build, to GTM readiness & launch
Preferred Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or another technical discipline
12+ years of relevant product experience in payments technology with a minimum of 10 years in card payments or merchant acquiring industry
Proficiency in API design, API gateways & related API tooling technology and a passion to build intuitive and reliable APIs that resonate strongly with the developer community
Previous experience of operating in and delivering large scale technology transformation in a Cloud first, Microservice Design domain along with its associated methodologies & technologies
Familiarity with roadmap & backlog management tools such as Jira, Version 1, Confluence. Aha etc.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
