Business Analyst
Job Summary
Working within a customer-first, agile framework, the Business Analyst works to answer the “What” and “Why” questions that inform and define new solution concepts.
They are responsible for eliciting, challenging and refining business requirements and collaborate with the Business Partner to build robust business cases for review and approval. They also support the Product Portfolio Directors /Owners in capturing requirements for existing products to enable sprint scheduling and prioritisation.
Person Profile – Must have
- Experience working on / alongside data projects.
- 7+ year’s experience as a Business analyst
- Ability to lead workshops with senior stakeholders in order to challenge and refine requirements.
- Ability to capture requirements in the appropriate format – Business Cases, Functional Specifications, creating and elaborating user stories.
- Deep experience of producing system and process diagrams, both As-Is and To-Be
- Fluency of Confluence, JIRA, prototype/wireframes, and user journey flows
- Flexible and agile mindset with the ability to work across different team functions and projects.
- Customer-first mindset
- Ability to bridge communications between business and technical teams.
- Excellent written English, including the ability to summarise complex data clearly and succinctly.
- Excellent listening, questioning, presentation and facilitation skills.
- High-level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to self-organise.
- Capacity to deliver on multiple levels and tasks, switching priorities as the need demands
- Fluency in standard user story format and acceptance criteria
- Experience of working in a global environment
Duties and Responsibilities
- Elicit, challenge, and prioritise business requirements for stakeholder approval.
- Capture business requirements in the appropriate format for the relevant Customer Digital Solutions (CDS) team.
- In collaboration with the Business Partner and/or Product Portfolio Directors deliver a robust cost/benefit analysis to enable data-driven “bullseye” decisions
- Develop the proposed solution’s user acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate user adoption of the solution and ensure the smooth handover to the support team.
- Ensure there are agreed metrics to evaluate the impact of the solution in line with the agreed requirements.
- Support the creation of solution benefit reports and facilitate stakeholder discussion to agree next steps.
- Surface opportunities to Business Partners and Product Portfolio Directors to re-use successful solutions/ways of working in other areas of the company.
- Balance and align the requirements of the Centres of Excellence/Business Units with organisations overall business objectives.
- Act as an advocate for the CDS team across the business including supporting the Business Partner and Product Portfolio Directors with education/workshops on digital capabilities.
