We now have an amazing new career opportunity here at Legal & General for a member of our IT Change team as a Business Analyst within our in L&G Retail division where you will have the opportunity to work with target business areas and system support teams to understand and analyse user/business needs. This new role will be responsible for smaller programmes and value increments or supporting the Lead BA on larger project transformations in the identification of functional, information and data dependencies at each stage, map business processes and system interactions and interfaces for ongoing business change and IT transformation, whilst utilising Associate BA’s where appropriate to deliver business outcomes.
What you'll be doingIn this Business Analyst role within the Retail (Insurance) IT & Change team, you’ll be key to an Agile scrum delivery team to deliver business change and technology transformation, working with target business areas within a value stream to understand, analyse and deliver positive value for the business. You’ll also work co-operatively with the wider organisational stakeholder group to ensure smooth solution development, rollout, maintenance and support.
Specific day-to-day responsibilities will vary but they will look something like this...
- Formulate, elicit and document requirements/user stories from stakeholders to specify desired system behaviours to achieve business process outcomes
- Design and facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, discovery activities to populate and enrich user stories and acceptance criteria
- Validate user stories using research, system analysis, data and customer insight to make informed decisions on priorities and focus
- Support the Product Owner / ‘Heads of’ in identifying the EPIC User Stories, building and prioritising the product backlogs
- Work closely with Developers, Support functions and UX Designers to translate user stories into viable product designs and deliver wireframes and working prototypes.
- Manage and influence senior stakeholder alignment and communication at various levels across multiple business areas and divisions
- Scope and shape the analysis approach from EPIC level information at Product Level
- Support product owners within the LGR business division, encouraging innovation and the identification of customer-centred journeys and experience
Experience:
- Must have a strong background as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst
- Experienced in conceptual modelling; ability to see the big picture and envision possible solutions
- Confident working with ambiguity
Knowledge:
- Backlog definition and prioritisation techniques
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, PowerApps & Power BI
- Kanban Flow, JIRA, Confluence
Skills:
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong negotiating skills, a great listener and skilled at dealing with conflict
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills; interpersonal and presentation skills
- Applied knowledge of Business Process Modelling techniques, Database and Development standards and Networking.
- Familiarity with cost benefit analysis
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise own workload
- Demonstrated experience working within both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Ability to facilitate a team to consensus on requirement decision
