Job description
We're ASOS. We blend our flair for fashion with our love of cutting- edge technology, but more importantly were interested in how we can bring the best out of you.
We exist to give people the confidence to be whoever they want to be, and that goes for our people too. At ASOS, you're free to be your true self without judgment, and channel your creativity into a platform used by millions.
Through our Fashion with Integrity strategy we are driving diversity, equity and inclusion across every aspect of ASOS and ensuring every ASOSer can be their authentic self at work. We want our people to be whoever they want to be, because we believe people who bring their best selves to work, do their best work.
About the Role
As a Business Analyst you will be a representative for both the iOS and Android Apps platforms and the users of these Apps, identifying where external change will impact their domain and where internal change will impact adjacent domains.
This ability will result from having a strong understanding of the platform’s systems, services, and capabilities, along with a good working knowledge of how their platform integrates with the wider ASOS Technology landscape (and any 3rd Party systems or products).
The Business Analyst will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify change impacting their platform, to understand and articulate that impact, and define corresponding solution requirements.
Contributing to, and helping validate, solution design options will form part of their role, along with active involvement in the development and implementation of the chosen solution. They will normally take full responsibility for changes whose scope affects only their platform, and support on larger cross-platform or cross-department initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working independently or with other Business Analysts as required, the Business Analyst will take responsibility for the planning, organising and execution of:
- Analysis planning – considering techniques and activities useful for a given change and agreeing with their colleagues and leadership which will be used.
- Requirements management – including requirement elicitation, documentation and validation from both solution and business perspectives. This will involve effectively managing stakeholders at various levels throughout the business, in particular Product Management where appropriate.
- Requirement analysis – including modelling and impact analysis, to ensure requirements are fully understood and account for all relevant business perspectives. They will be responsible that the solution meets the true business need and delivers quantifiable value.
- Backlog management – including backlog population, refinement, and prioritisation in consultation with business and technology stakeholders, especially the relevant Development team.
- Agile development practice – including ceremonies, appropriate ways of working, dedicated tools, and anything else aligned with Agile principles. The Business Analyst will be expected to champion the needs of all stakeholders throughout this development process.
- The implementation of completed solutions – whether that solution is technological, people- or process-based (or any combination of these), and any subsequent activities such as Benefit Realisation.
On top of these you may be expected to lead or be involved in managing the internal bug process alongside the Lead QA, and working with the Product Ops Lead to manage the Apps experimentation and small change process including co-ordination across the Apps team.
Who We’d Like to Meet
We’re looking for tenacious individual, with some experience of Business Analysis who wants to take the next step in their development in a high growth, fashion ecommerce business.
We’d love you to have demonstrable experience working as a Business Analyst working with engineering teams or as part of transformation projects. You will have confidence in managing stakeholders at all levels, experience working within structured and Agile (SCRUM and Kanban) project environments, and business process modelling and management skills.
It would be a great benefit if you also had some experience of working within a front-end ecommerce environment.
