We have 2 positions available; working within our Clinical Pharmacology and Safety Science (CPSS) dept, which supports and is embedded within Biopharmaceuticals R&D as part of the Business Planning and Operations (BPO) function.
This advanced two-year apprenticeship as a Business Administrator offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic working environment within the Executive Assistant Team to provide broad department support to several managers.
Responsibilities associated with the role include:
Managing travel arrangements and bookings
Meeting and conference administration including taking minutes, keeping action logs and booking and scheduling rooms
Creating presentation documents using Microsoft applications
Raising purchase orders, reconciling invoices and credits
Supporting our Project Team with Project-related administration and the control of project documentation
Understanding internal customer requirements and ensure that these are fully met
Overseeing security checks, HR & IT requirements for onboarding vendor personnel
Scheduling and coordinating events
Coordinating annual data collection and benchmarking exercises
Deputising for Admin Team including possible inbox management
Draft Communications for Leadership Team
Training and Development:
AstraZeneca will support you through your Business Administrator apprenticeship https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/business-administrator-v1-0 with Paragon Skills.
The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time learning (equating to 20% off the job each week). This will give you the opportunity to gain a Level 3 qualification, just as you would if you went to college full-time, with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop new medicines whilst taking your first steps towards an exciting career.

Essential skills/capabilities required:
We would be looking for the following attributes from our successful applicants:
Enthusiastic individuals who are keen to learn and with a genuine curiosity for the science involved in creating new medicines.
Able to act independently but also to work and contribute in a team environment
Good organisational skills with an excellent attention to detail
The ability to work on multiple tasks, following and improving processes, whilst efficiently prioritising activities
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and IT skills
A proactive approach to problem solving
The ability to create and maintain systems for efficiency for both self and others
Entry Requirements:
5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grades 9 to 4, including Maths and English
To have achieved or predicted to achieve one A level at a grade C

Successful candidates will be asked to attend a virtual Assessment day on 29th April 2022
This is a 2-year fixed term contract opportunity based at Cambridge, UK and offering £21,500 starting base salary + 11% benefits fund + bonus.

We therefore offer a relocation package to help with the costs and process of moving for candidates who currently live more than 60 minutes from the site location for this Apprenticeship. Site Operations support a number of sites around Cambridge. Some travel to local sites may be required.
