As a Van Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with deliveries and collections of household items from residents within the community.
Volunteer role requirements:
· Safely lifting and carrying a range of furniture items by hand (Lifting aids available).
· Ensuring the van and warehouse area is always kept clean, safe and organised in line with Health and Safety.
· Supporting Van Driver with coordinating and preparing deliveries for customers.
· To promote the project by being courteous and friendly to all members of the public, other individuals, and groups.
Skills required:
Previous experience isn’t essential as full training will be given along with PPE. We believe everyone has something exciting to offer; a positive attitude and a friendly approach to chatting with other people goes a long way.
Time commitment:
We are looking for a volunteer that will commit to at least 3 hours a week, between Monday and Friday.
Training, support and benefits:
· As an Garnsychan Partnership volunteer, you will be given a full induction when you start.
· A staff member will support you throughout your time as a volunteer.
· We will offer you an opportunity to develop your skills and experience for a worthwhile cause.
· We will look to provide further training where possible.
