Van Driver
Despatch Point Limited, formed in 1995, is a reputable and independent company based in Basingstoke, Hampshire specialising in UK and International Freight Forwarding and Courier Services with a number of clients based locally and around the UK. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and physically fit team member with a can-do attitude to work within our small team in Basingstoke to assist with the company’s expansion plans.
Candidate requirements:
- 5 year checkable work history
- Full UK Driving License with a minimum of 5 year’s experience and no more than 3 penalty points
(No DD convictions)
- Ability to learn our independent software systems
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Approachable and polite to staff and customers
- Experience of driving various types and sizes of vans up to 3.5t Luton Vans.
The job will involve:
- Collecting consignments from customers locally or further afield when required
- Collection and delivery of same day deliveries around the UK when required
- Driving modern, high specification company vans up to 3.5t GVW
- Delivering shipments to various suppliers
- Possible nights out on rare occasions and willingness to do overtime when required
- Helping to load and unload vehicles
- Willingness to help in the warehouse at times/when required
Suitable candidates will be subject to an interview at our office in Basingstoke and a three month probationary period.
The successful candidate will be offered an immediate start with a competitive salary as well as 20 days (plus bank holidays) of paid holiday per annum and enrolment into the companies pension scheme. Uniform provided. 40 hours per week with working hours normally between 0830 and 1730 Monday to Friday but some flexibility required outside of these hours.
