Building Maintenance Technician

The Opportunity:
We have a great opportunity within our building maintenance team. This role will be responsible for the Inverness site to ensure the highest of standards are maintained across the site.
Job Focus:
You should have a hands-on approach, ensuring all day to day maintenance is achieved in a timely manner whilst developing a preventative planned maintenance schedule.
You will excel at ensuring safety standards and continuous improvement and lean thinking will come natural to you in everything you deliver. You will be a good team player who is great at communicating and working in a proactive manner.
What YOU will do here at LifeScan:
- Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs surrounding joinery, flooring, basic plumbing, plastering, tiling and roofing on site
- As part of continuous improvement, develop and modify existing planned maintenance job plans
- Actively review existing infrastructure to identify capital projects
- Work with the Projects Team to self-deliver in-house refurbishments; utilising core trade skills
- Arranging the provision of materials and plant
- Negotiating trade discounts with local suppliers
- Contractor management via RAMS & PTW system
- Ensuring works carried out are in accordance with health and safety regulations
About YOU:
As a minimum you be a qualified joiner with proven maintenance experience. Together with:
- Flexible nature and ability to prioritise tasks
- Work well on own initiative
- Have a proactive approach to maintenance
- Aptitude to deliver cost effective solutions
It goes without saying that you will have a reactive/flexible approach to maintenance and able to work well as an individual or as part of a team in a pressure situation and always demonstrate good communications and reporting skills both verbal and written.
