Street Cleansing carries work on behalf of Derby Homes. This includes carrying out a variety of work. The building cleaners are responsible for Cleaning all the communal area of blocks of flats and the bin stores as well as litter picking the surrounding site, they clean housing offices and sheltered Housing. As well as this we do Stripping and sealing floor and window cleaning. Once.
There are currently 5 mobile teams, and they all have their own buildings which are timed, and they must complete the work given on that day. The post is working on one of the rounds, but your round could vary and there may be times you could also be doing window cleaning or working on the floor team stripping and sealing the floors. The starts times can vary from 6am start to 8am start depending what round you are on, the change in start time can be at short notice. You must be a driver.
We are looking for an individual who is willing to carry out the variety of works which we carry out and are motivated to complete each task to a high standard. While carrying out this work the post holder needs to maintain a professional attitude to our commercial customers, while having a can do approach.
A full Driving licence is required.
A good standard of education is required relating to reading and writing to be able to read and understand specific work instructions and complete the client job sheets and the health and safety information required.
All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
