Job description
Overview: TelAffects is seeking an entry-level IT professional to help with administrative tasks to support the department’s day to day operations. The IT team member will also assist with basic help desk support functions. This will be an opportunity to get experience in all facets of technology to support a business in meeting its objectives. This position is for the morning shift from 7am to 4pm EST. Those not willing to learn a lot need not apply.
Job Details
Workload: 40-45 hours per week, occasionally 45+ hours per week
- Schedule: Normally M-F 8-9 hours per day between hours of 7am-4pm EST, and occasionally on call to support technology issues outside of business hours, which might include occasional nights and weekends
Location: On site in our office, possibility of remote work after 90 days

Character and Background
- some IT experience and/or education preferred
- demonstrated experience or education substantiating computer troubleshooting or maintenance proficiency
- solid understanding of computer technology
- sharp and adaptive problem solving style
- patience and calm demeanor required for working with end users
- good basic computer maintenance skills
- smart, enthusiastic, and hard working
- proficient in use of Microsoft Windows
- basic networking knowledge a plus
- any experience with telephony systems would be a plus
- Google Apps/GSuite/Workspace a plus
- familiarity with Citrix a plus
- familiarity with Chrome OS a plusDuties
- perform basic administrative functions, such as inventory tracking, equipment shipments, employee onboarding and offboarding paperwork, office organization, equipment and supply recycling
- use help desk system
- provide basic user support
- basic phone system support
- on call after hours support (rarely outside of our normal M-F 7:00-7:00 operating hours)
- report to head of IT department
- help document, improve and execute department procedures and processes
Requirements
- candidate needs to be able to lift and move equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds
- candidate needs to be able to effectively use standard personal computers with standard keyboard, standard monitor, and standard input device, such as a mouse
- candidate needs to be able to produce professional written documentation (free of grammatical and spelling errors)
- candidate needs to be able to calmly and effectively assist with chaotic situations involving one or more users with technology issues, sometimes on a large scale, without getting flustered
- candidate needs to be polite, cordial and professional at all times
- candidate needs to be able to be on call to support technology issues outside of business hours, which might include occasional nights and weekends
- candidate needs to be detail oriented and able to follow instructions and execute assignments with minimal supervision
- candidate needs to be able to work independently, but also go to manager when confronted with obstacles that will impact progress of assigned work
- candidate must be able to pass a background check
- candidate must be able to protect confidential company and client information
- candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Windows, Chrome, GMail, Office, common browsers, e-mail and other common productivity software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
