- Candidate must have a working knowledge of general university policies and procedures, basic audit procedures, electronic financial software, and Microsoft Office systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous budget experience, knowledge of SAP and Concur software, Bachelor’s degree or hours toward a Bachelor’s degree.
Job Description
Responsible for monitoring and administering budgets at the department/office level, including grant accounting support. Responsible for providing budget change data entry, technical advice and support to department/office account managers.
Job Duties
- Use SAP to monitor and reconcile departmental accounts, including awarded grants and contracts.
- Reconcile budget and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in compiling statistical data and developing information on spreadsheets.
- Generate budget report for the various accounts as needed.
- Assist with disbursement of funds as directed.
- Assist with internal and external grant management.
- Assist departmental equipment purchases to support faculty teaching and research.
- Prepare travel applications and reimbursements via Concur.
- Prepare payment requests and purchase orders, and vendor set-up as appropriate.
- Prepare Personnel Change Requests as required.
- Vehicle reservations in conjunction with conferences, travel and class field trips.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information to Applicants
The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies has 34 full-time faculty members, over 400 undergraduate majors in BA and BS programs, and over 100 graduate students in our Master of Science (MS), Master of Applied Geography (MAG), and PhD programs. The department hosts three PhD programs in geography, geographic education, and geographic information science.
