LWBS LTD – BRICKLAYING JOB OPPORTUNITY
Opportunity
Due to the expansion of a successful local business they now have an opportunity for two new bricklayers. The job will be working on private house extensions, new builds, renovations etc throughout the Leeds and Wakefield areas. This is an ideal opportunity to join a successful team with work provided for all year round. We are looking to build long-term relationships with the successful candidates with further expansion planned over the coming years.
Responsibilities
The job will be working as part of a team that will be responsible for the construction of extensions and new builds from the ground / sub-structure works, including all drainage works, through to the wall plate level with all structural works required for each job also to be taken care of by the team.
You will be responsible for the ordering of materials required for each job through your site manager to make sure items are on site and ready for you and the job is kept moving.
Tasks
To read architect’s drawings and be able to set out and work to these drawings for foundation and construction works.
Construct brick, block and stonework walls dependent on each job’s requirements.
Follow structural engineer’s reports and install structural steel as per the reports or prepare the openings for fabricators to install the steel work.
Follow building regulations requirements throughout the works and always carry out best practice methods.
To work under the direction of a site manager and take instruction from the site manager
Skills required
Experienced brick layers are required who can demonstrate their skills in carrying out the tasks outlined and who can be left to work on their own initiative.
You must be able to demonstrate your experience in successfully carrying out the duties outlined above in your previous work roles.
To be able to provide a high standard and quality of work, in keeping with the current standards that the company works to.
Hours & Pay
An 8-hour day is worked, which is from 7.30am – 3.30pm with a break in the morning and a lunch break.
All wages are paid a week in hand and through the CIS scheme
