The Team
The Marketing Team at Farrer & Co is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s marketing strategy, including profile and reputation, marketing communications, and business development. This also extends to all aspects of marketing planning, brand management, communications, events, CRM, business and market analysis, and business development, including pitches and tenders.
Scope
We are looking for an ambitious brand and design assistant to join our dynamic and friendly marketing communications team. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the growing in-house design services at the firm. The day-to-day scope will be varied as it works across a wide range of exciting briefs, providing support to all areas of the business. The ideal candidate will be creative, with a design degree or equivalent and keen to learn. Experience working within a professional services firm would be helpful.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the Farrer & Co brand guidelines to ensure and implement best practice.
- Respond to day-to-day requests / queries into the design team.
- Help with the creation and maintenance of various types of collateral, including but not limited to; brochures, reports, client documents, event materials etc.
- Assist in maintaining image and asset libraries.
- Provide support to the Design Lead on overarching plans and strategic reporting for design.
- Create digital graphics for our social media channels, website, and other online platforms.
- Be involved in supporting the visuals for internal communications campaigns and initiatives.
- Use personal experience and sources of inspiration to brainstorm and present creative concepts for both new and existing campaigns.
- A desirable candidate would be responsible for videography and podcast editing.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified to a degree level in graphic design or similar field (or equivalent).
- Foundation of design principles, typography, colour use, and layout.
- Proficient in the Adobe Suite of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop (Premier Pro and After Effects desirable).
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience in XD or Figma desirable.

- Professional and calm under pressure.
- An analytical eye with attention to detail.
- Experience working in professional services desirable.
Special aspects
The hours of work for this opportunity are 09:30am-5:30pm but it is essential to be committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours when necessary and in response to client demand.
You will be expected to follow the firm’s agile working policy, which embraces home working but will require employees to spend a minimum number of days each week in the London office.
Farrer & Co is open to flexible working by arrangement, this role is intended as a full-time position but we can consider a 0.8 work pattern.
