At the heart of our work is the critically-acclaimed Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (the UK’s oldest) and Choir; an extensive programme of participatory work with young people and others across our community; and presentation of almost 400 concerts and events each year at our home, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
We are central to Liverpool’s cultural offering, being the largest music organisation and one of the largest cultural organisations in the city, employing over 240 people. As well as our work in Liverpool our Orchestra represent the city with performances and broadcasts across the UK and around the world.
Position:
Principal role:
To provide an efficient ticketing service for all Philharmonic Hall promotions with the objective of maximising ticket sales in association with the Marketing Team.
Selling tickets for upcoming events by phone and in person using the Spektrix ticketing system, asking for donations, upselling ticket insurance, at seat drinks and car parking
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the ticketing system’s records are maintained and accurate
- Answering customer queries covering a range of topics from ticketing queries to travel advice
- Resolving customer issues and problems, escalating promptly to a manager when appropriate
- Monitoring Box office email ensuring queries are dealt with promptly
- Print and preparation of postal tickets for despatch ensuring they are sent to customers in a timely manner
- Using the Jivo chat app to answer customer queries delivered through the website
- Delivering an exceptional level of customer service
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Box Office manager
Requirements:
Personal behaviours required:
- Strong numerical skills for sales. Experience of cash handling is desirable
- To be willing to learn about building procedures and events
- Ability to work flexibly including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
- Positive communication skills and the ability to solve customer problems or queries efficiently
- Be able to remain calm, positive and professional under pressure in a public-facing role An interest in and enthusiasm for music and live performance and the work of the Liverpool Philharmonic
Other information:
Salary: £10.90 per hour - Real living wage
Employment type: This is a variable hours contract. On Average, we anticipate that the work will be approximately 7- 14 hours per week.
The Box Office standard opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am - 5.30pm. We are also open for all concerts, evening and weekend shifts are expected.
Holidays: 5.6 weeks per year, pro rata's based on hours worked. These will be taken at times agreed with your line manager.
