Bookkeeper Job Summary
Looking for a skilled bookkeeper to play a key role on our growing team, providing back-office support to a variety of clients. You’ll be responsible for recording financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, and posting information to accounting journals and QuickBooks-Online. Compensation:$25 - $30 hourly
Responsibilities:- Bookkeeping: Enter data, maintain records, and produce financial reports
- Assist in the Preparation of month-end reporting packages and bank reconciliations, etc.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Verify that transactions are recorded correctly and reconcile suppliers' ledgers, customer ledgers, and general ledgers as required
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable in a timely manner
- Assist in managing payroll duties to ensure employees are paid on time
- Worked previously with basic accounting systems, QuickBooks, and Excel
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is an asset
- 2+ years of Canadian work experience at an accounting firm or as a bookkeeper, cost accountant, management accountant, or similar position
- A strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is an asset
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, and basic accounting systems
- Technologically savvy; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel programs and filing systems with the ability to learn new programs quickly and troubleshoot common issues
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
