Bookkeeping Professional

THE ROLE
· This is a bookkeeping position designed for an experienced bookkeeping professional looking for more flexibility and a better work/life balance and with opportunities for continued learning and development
· Minimum requirement 20-25 hours per week, may lead to full time depending on operational need and preference of individual. Complete flexibility within those ranges.
· Work from home majority of the time (we’ll hook you up with the equipment you’ll need) using an array of cloud-based apps for both professional work and team collaboration

· Performance-based bonuses each June and December
· Hourly pay structure ensuring you get paid for every hour worked. Competitive hourly rates commensurate with experience
· Overtime rarely required
· Flexible scheduling. Responsibilities will be assigned collaboratively. Where and when the work is done will be up to you
THE FIRM
· Rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, and modern accounting firm working mainly with small to medium sized businesses across a range of industries
· Small, bright, modern office in west-end of Kingston, but majority of work can be done remotely
· In process of shifting from traditional service model toward all-inclusive value-added service offerings (majority of firm revenue derived from monthly packages)
· We utilize an array of cloud-based software and communication tools to work efficiently and keep in touch throughout the day
· Plans in place to eliminate timesheets within two years
· Team currently includes three CPA co-owners as well as several other members with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds working in a collaborative and easygoing atmosphere
RESPONSIBILITIES AND BACKGROUND
· Primary responsibility to provide full-cycle bookkeeping support and compliance services for our growing customer base
· The role will involve payroll processing, therefore, Payroll Certification is considered an asset
· Bookkeeping/Accounting postsecondary diploma preferred. Consideration given to an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
· Ideal candidate has 2 years or more experience in a similar bookkeeping role. CPA firm experience an asset but not a dealbreaker if equivalent experience gained
· Proficient with bookkeeping software, preferably cloud-based Xero and QBO. We are looking for someone that is tech-savvy!
· Establish and maintain highly valued, trusting customer relationships and provide bookkeeping and software guidance and support to customers
