Job responsibilities
- Process monthly accounts in a timely manner using the company’s service model
- Provide day to day support to clients and prepare yearend package to account manager
- Obtain required materials from clients on a weekly/biweekly/monthly basis, i.e. duplicate cheques/cheque stubs, sales and weekly/biweekly/monthly reports and accounts receivable, accounts payables, inventory, cash expenses and visa statements if applicable
- Provide payroll cheques and details according to client needs
- Prepare source deduction amount, and advise client of due date in a timely manner
- Perform bank reconciliation and advise client of overdraft notice received from their bank
- Preparation of annual T4 and T4 summary
- Process GST/HST returns and advise client of due date and amount in a timely manner
- Process WSIB returns and advise client of due date and amount in a timely manner
- Complete EHT returns if applicable and advise client of due date and amount in a timely manner
- Monitor and update asset acquisitions and loan payables
- Utilize and follow the company’s project and work tracking system
- Prepare necessary forms for changes in client information like changes of address, change of status and various updates for internal office use
- Perform or assist in onboarding of new clients when needed
- Assist with office admin including filing, scanning and sorting mail items
- Prepare annual personal income tax returns
The candidate should possess the qualities listed below:
- Attention to detail, self-starter, independent, willingness to learn, and excellent team player
- Excellent knowledge in the fundamentals of accrual bookkeeping, payroll, debits and credits, bank reconciliations and more
- Comfortable in an office environment, and working remotely
- Highly organized

- You are a multi-tasker and can manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong work ethic
- Tech savvy
Requirements
- Minimum 2 year bookkeeping experience
- Fast internet connection at least 6 MBPS down and 6 MBPS up
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online (Xero is an asset)
- Prior experience in a startup/small firm culture is preferred (not mandatory)
