Biomedical Scientist - (Biochemistry)

Location- Central London

About the role

Biomedical Scientist responsible for the day-to-day management of the referrals section for the Biochemistry department. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will perform the speedy and accurate processing of samples, validate results and to assist the senior biomedical scientists and department Head in Biochemistry as required. You will perform a high-quality analytical role, enabling the provision of a comprehensive pathology service for laboratory users.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Section Lead and Senior Biomedical scientist with the verification of assays.
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the referrals section.
  • Monitor and enter results from referral laboratories.
  • Speedy and accurate processing of samples
  • Interpretation, validation and timely reporting of results
  • Assist Section Leader with the day to day running of Chemistry section
  • Ensure equipment in Chemistry working correctly
  • Liaise and assist specimen Reception and other sections within the laboratory
  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies
  • Follow HCA policies and procedures

Skills & Experience

  • Degree educated in Biomedical Science or similar
  • Recent experience in Biochemistry
  • HCPC Registered
  • Member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences
  • Evidence of continual personal development
