Job Role; Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology

Duties;

• Perform laboratory procedures effectively, rotating through the sections of the department, to provide a comprehensive pathology service as an aid to effective diagnosis and treatment of the patient
• Ensure efficient processing of patient samples using a variety of manual, semi-automated, and fully automated techniques and instrumentation.
• Undertake troubleshooting and maintenance on any equipment within the section
• Assess the suitability and appropriateness of samples received, liaising with medical staff as appropriate

Role of Department; the department offer core analyses on a frequent basis, processing urgent requests and a variety of specialized tests.
