Job Role; Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology

Duties;

Perform laboratory procedures effectively, rotating through the sections of the department, to provide a comprehensive pathology service as an aid to effective diagnosis and treatment of the patient
Ensure efficient processing of patient samples using a variety of manual, semi-automated, and fully automated techniques and instrumentation.
Undertake troubleshooting and maintenance on any equipment within the section
Assess the suitability and appropriateness of samples received, liaising with medical staff as appropriate

Role of Department; the department offer core analyses on a frequent basis, processing urgent requests and a variety of specialized tests.
