Job description

TEHC Healthcare is seeking an organized home care biller with a dynamic personality to join out team. Billers are responsible for obtaining benefit information and verifying Medicare, Managed Care, and Commercial plans for coverage. This person will perform tasks such as cash posting, billing, and pre-claim submissions. They will work closely with each branch to offer support to ensure claims are processed accurately and timely.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in Medicare and insurance home health billing.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask, ensuring the completion of tasks, projects, and reports throughout the day.
  • Functional knowledge of computer/technology skills including, but not limited to MS Office, MS Excel, navigation of company website, and electronic medical record.
  • Kinnser/Wellsky experience a plus
  • DDE, Zirmed (Waystar) experience preferred
  • Must successfully pass Level II BGS and OIG check

Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate coding and billing according to local, state and federal laws, conditions and regulations.
- Assign appropriate diagnosis-related group (DRG) codes for home care services
- Utilize ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems to assign procedure and diagnosis codes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for billing purposes
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, government agencies, or other third-party payers
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations

Skills:
- Proficient in medical billing and coding procedures
- Strong knowledge of DRG coding systems, ICD-10, and ICD-9 coding guidelines
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
