How will you make a difference?
Reporting into BI & Data Department Lead, the role of BI Analystwill work closely with other BI team members, the wider IT Development team and senior stakeholders to understand the data needs of the business to assist in the build and maintenance of the Power BI reporting suite providing insight to decision makers.
What will the BI Analystbe accountable for?
- Working closely with developers and stakeholders to support data requirements for reporting and analysis.
- Ensuring a detailed understanding of the information available within the data warehouse, identifying any changes/additions required.
- Support and develop data models in SSAS and Power BI to support best practice reporting solutions and a single source of truth.
- Develop and support the Power BI environment, creating reports, dashboards, and apps to improve utilisation and efficiency, whilst ensuring governance and security of data access.
- Ensure the upkeep and integrity of data definitions within the data dictionary.
- Transition legacy SSRS reporting into Power BI where applicable.
What else might you be asked to assist with?
- Involvement in the design, development, and implementation of the data warehouse to support the BI requirements of the business.
- Support, develop, and implement new ETL processes to gather business data.
- Manage data related support tickets and ad-hoc requests.
How will you make it happen?
- Relevant experience in BI ideally using Power BI + DAX, TSQL.
- Experience simplifying and consolidating complex data from various sources.
- Understanding of data warehousing principles
- Ability to ask the right questions to get to the true requirements of a request.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise and communicate effectively at all levels across the business including Senior Management
- Innovative and solution focused with the ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensure robust review and testing processes are implemented and followed to support data quality, integrity, and the single version of the truth.
- Maintain positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback to other team members and key stakeholders.
- Ensure own continuous development through research, learning and networking to stay current on industry developments.
Any experience of the following is beneficial but not required:
- Azure knowledge (Azure Data Factory)
- Power Platform – Power Automate, Power Apps
- Statistical background – Python/R.
