Salary: £26,250 full time equivalent, (£18,750 pro rata)

About the Role
We are looking for a Befriending Officer to join our growing team to get more people involved with volunteering in their neighbourhoods and communities. You will play a crucial link in matching volunteer befrienders with older adults in Croydon who would benefit from regular home visits, telephone calls, or meeting for a walk / at a cafe.
The Befriending Officer will build great relationships with volunteers and our clients, and plays a vital role in ensuring everyone feels confident and happy with the ongoing befriending match. Full training will be provided.
Main duties and key tasks (but not limited to)
- Work closely with the Community Engagement Services Manager to enable the processes and systems of the Befriending service run smoothly and effectively
- Provide excellent customer service to referrers, by processing referrals in a timely and collaborative way.
- Work closely with referring colleagues to understand the needs of their clients and facilitate the match with a befriender.
- The above is not an exhaustive list of duties.
Working conditions (required)
- Ability to travel ( public transport / car) around the borough of Croydon in a timely manner with regular travel to clients’ homes.
- The post involves lone working and visiting people in their own homes. Training and support is provided.
- This post requires some flexibility with working hours, as some volunteer interviews and befriending matches may infrequently need to be conducted outside of regular working hours (weekends)
